THE MOVEMENT IS AN EXTRA 18 JEWELS HIGH QUALITY PRECISION CHRONOMETER.

The elegant ORIGINAL STEEL DIAL is in flawless condition. It is complete with outer track border, GOLD raised & applied Arabic numerals and hour markers, GOLD Dauphine-style hands and a recessed sunk sub-seconds dial with “sweep” gold steel seconds hand.

The dial is signed PATEK PHILIPPE & Co – GENEVE in black lettering below the 12.

It is a registered design model that features a three pieceSOLID GOLD (14K) case with the 60 DIAMONDSaround watch glass on front bezel is in great condition. This watch was converted from pocket watch. The case, new custom made, fantastic, build specially for this wonderful Patek Philippe movement. Turning the watch over I note that the back lid is nice and clean. The watch glass is SAPPHIRE. The lugs are in great condition while the new winding crown, with engraved flower, is in very good shape and operates properly.

Peeking inside via the glass lid I find a spotless andHIGHEST QUALITY, manual wind movement(CALATRAVA model) with STRAIGHT LINE DAMASKEENING, END-PIECES of ANOTHER STEEL for the ESCAPE WHEEL, GOLD WHEELSand BI-METALLIC MICROMETER REGULATOR.

The bridge holds the escape wheel is furnished with aANOTHER STEEL END PIECE. This end piece is used to minimize the axial clearance of the wheel arbor and enhances the precision of this important element of the escapement. End jewels also protect the stuffs from dirt and dust.

The movement is signed PATEK PHILIPPE & Co – GENEVE – SWISS – EIGHTEEN (18) JEWELS – ADJUSTED FIVE (5) POSITIONS – THREE (3) HEAT – GOLD ISOCHRONISM. Also it signed movement serial number №901,472. This serial number corresponds to the 1965 production date as per published records ofPATEK PHILIPPE & Cie.

The number of jewels used in watch movements increased over the last 150 years as jewelling grew less expensive and watches grew more accurate. The only bearings that really need to be jeweled in a watch are the ones in the going train - the gear train that transmits force from the mainspring barrel to the balance wheel - since only they are constantly under force from the mainspring. The wheels that turn the hands (the motion work) and the calendar wheels are not under load, while the ones that wind the mainspring (the keyless work) are used very seldom, so they do not wear significantly. Friction has the greatest effect in the wheels that move the fastest, so they benefit most from jewelling. So the first mechanism to be jeweled in watches was the balance wheel pivots, followed by the escapement. As more jeweled bearings were added, they were applied to slower moving wheels, and jewelling progressed up the going train toward the barrel. A 17 jewel watch has every bearing from the balance wheel to the mainspring barrel jeweled, so it was considered a 'fully jeweled' watch.

This beautiful wristwatch has the ORIGINAL movement in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch. Mechanism has been recently serviced to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping great, accurate time.

It is fitted on a new 20mm brown REAL alligator skin strap with GOLD (14K) buckle that is signed PATEK PHILIPPE & Co – GENEVE – 14K is vintage style and goes great with this wonderful watch.
