It is a registered design “FULLY” JEWELED model that features an ORIGINAL ENAMEL METAL DIAL, SLIM GOLD PLATED CASE and original high grade mechanism with STRAIGHT LINE DAMASKEENING,WINDING WHEELS WITH WOLF TEETH TRANSMISSION, TWO-PART WINDING BRIDGE, END-PIECES of ANOTHER STEEL for the ESCAPE WHEEL, GOLD WHEELS and BI-METALLIC MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUED BREGUET HAIRSPRING signedVACHERON & CONSTANTIN.

The ORIGINAL sunken METAL DIAL is in good condition. It is complete with a crisp 60 minute outer track border, elegant black enamel painted Arabic numerals, original blue steel Sword-style hands and a recessed sunken sub-seconds dial with “sweep” original blue steel seconds hand.

Signed VACHERON & CONSTANTIN in black enamel lettering below the 12 and further signedGENEVE. Signed SWISS at the base of the dial.

It is a registered design model that features a SLIM three piece GOLD PLATED case that provides with glass cover of back lid. This watch was converted from pocket watch.The lugs are in great condition while the winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly. The case, new custom made, fantastic, build specially for this wonderfulVacheron & Constantin movement.

Peeking inside via the glass lid I find a “FULLY” JEWELED and spotless, high quality, manual wind nickel plated lever escapement movement withSTRAIGHT LINE DAMASKEENING, WINDING WHEELS WITH WOLF TEETH TRANSMISSION,TWO-PART WINDING BRIDGE, END-PIECES of ANOTHER STEEL for the ESCAPE WHEEL, GOLD WHEELS and BI-METALLIC MICROMETER REGULATOR & BLUED BREGUET HAIRSPRING.

The number of jewels used in watch movements increased over the last 150 years as jewelling grew less expensive and watches grew more accurate. The only bearings that really need to be jeweled in a watch are the ones in the going train - the gear train that transmits force from the mainspring barrel to the balance wheel - since only they are constantly under force from the mainspring. The wheels that turn the hands (the motion work) and the calendar wheels are not under load, while the ones that wind the mainspring (the keyless work) are used very seldom, so they do not wear significantly. Friction has the greatest effect in the wheels that move the fastest, so they benefit most from jewelling. So the first mechanism to be jeweled in watches was the balance wheel pivots, followed by the escapement. As more jeweled bearings were added, they were applied to slower moving wheels, and jewelling progressed up the going train toward the barrel. A 17 jewel watch has every bearing from the balance wheel to the mainspring barrel jeweled, so it was considered a 'fully jeweled' watch.

The bridge holds the escape wheel is furnished with aANOTHER STEEL END PIECE. This end piece is used to minimize the axial clearance of the wheel arbor and enhances the precision of this important element of the escapement. End jewels also protect the stuffs from dirt and dust.

The movement signed VACHERON & CONSTANTIN– GENEVE – SWISS –EIGHTEEN (18) JEWELS – ADJ TO TEMP. – FIVE (5) POSITIONS.

Also it signed movement serial number #412,469. This serial number corresponds to the 1931 production date as per published records.

This beautiful wristwatch has the ORIGINAL movement in an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch. Mechanism has been recently serviced to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping great, accurate time.

It is fitted on a new 22mm brown lizard grain strap genuine leather with golden steel buckle that is vintage style and goes great with this wonderful watch.
